Independent Research Firm Names WaveMaker Among Top Vendors for Low-Code Development Platforms For AD&D Professionals

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 28, 2019 WaveMaker, Inc., the leading low-code powered modernization platform, was named as a contender in low-code development platforms for AD&D professionals by the independent research firm Forrester The Forrester Wave™: Low-Code Development Platforms For AD&D Professionals, Q1 2019. The report reveals a notable increase in the adoption of low-code development platforms by enterprise development teams.

“We believe that being invited by Forrester to participate in this study underscores our growing reputation as a leading low-code development platform,” said Vijay Pullur, CEO of WaveMaker. “We’re deeply committed to helping enterprise IT teams leverage the power of low-code technology to streamline their business operations. In our view, recognition in The Forrester Wave Report is testament to our innovative platform and the high-impact outcomes it delivers.”

The Forrester Wave report synthesizes a comprehensive evaluation of the 13 leading low-code development providers. Through its detailed survey of global developers, the report uncovers growing adoption of low-code platforms, with 23% of developers reporting having used low-code platforms in 2018, and another 22% planning to do so within a year. The key driver of this adoption is surging demand for software from digital businesses. The report also reveals that vendors are removing previous limitations on low-code adoption — in part by supporting coding.

According to the report, “WaveMaker is perfect for server-side Java developers looking to low-code to make them full-stack developers. WaveMaker brings low-code tooling to web and mobile user experience development by combining declarative tooling and code behind development, allowing professional developers to customize and extend code. Under the covers, WaveMaker employs open standards-based frameworks — Angular 7, Spring, and Hibernate — to the benefit of the many developers who know those constructs.”

The report also states “WaveMaker’s strategy to supplement Java coding with low-code tools to modernize applications is best-suited to applications where customization is needed.”

The Forrester Wave report assesses the 13 most significant low-code development suppliers in the market using 28 criteria, which were grouped into the categories of market presence, strategy, and current offering. The report reveals how each provider measures up and helps AD&D pros select the right one for their needs.
