WaveMaker Co-Sponsors Apps World North America 2015 Hackathon With Honda Developer Studio, Microsoft Azure, and Mojio; Stages First Hackathon for Non-Programming Business Professionals

WaveMaker Awarding Prizes in Two Challenges: Best Web App Built by a Non-Programming Business Professional and Best Web App Built by a Java Developer
Mountain View, Calif. – May 5, 2015 – WaveMaker, a leading enterprise application Platform-as-a-Service (aPaaS) software company, today announced that the company is a Gold Sponsor in Apps World North America 2015, taking place May 12-13, 2015 at Moscone Center West Convention Center in San Francisco, CA. WaveMaker joins Honda Developer Studio, Microsoft Azure, and Mojio as a co-sponsor for the Apps World North America Hackathon and is awarding prizes for two of the five Hackathon challenges. As the only company also targeting non-developers, WaveMaker is awarding two Apple Watches, a DJI Phantom 3 Professional Drone or $1,200 cash for the best app created by a non-programming business professional or team.

Great ideas sometimes need great apps, but innovations are often blocked by the need to write software. With WaveMaker’s rapid application development (RAD) platform, business people with little to no coding skills can easily assemble a web application, demonstrating that anyone can solve an existing problem or quickly recreate a great looking multi-device web application. Participants can either enter solo or form a team up to five members. Only one person needs to be physically present at the Hackathon and the rest can contribute remotely. WaveMaker is also awarding first and second place prizes for java developers (solo or in teams with at least one person onsite) who create the best multi-device web application incorporating APIs. As the variety of devices including mobile, wearables, and the Internet of Things increases, so does the task of developing user interfaces for these devices. With WaveMaker’s RAD platform, java developers can quickly build great looking web apps once that instantly run on multiple devices. The top two developers or teams who create the best app will win two Apple Watches or a DJI Phantom 3 Professional Drone or $1,200 cash for first place, and one Apple Watch or $600 cash for second place.
